Kitchen Hack #5 Peeling Bulk Garlic in 45 seconds or less….

How the Microwave may take away all the stinky fuss…

Do you love wine too? Make sure you read to the bottom and check out one of my old garlic vids for a laugh! With a tight grip on the stalk end place knife on root end a few mills back from end and carefully cut right the way through. Toss the whole head of garlic in your microwave and heat it for 20 seconds on high. Check it after 10 seconds — remove the head using oven mitts (if you can handle it you can simply use your hands), since it will be hot, and see if the papery skins feel loose (squeeze one from the stalk end. They should just pop straight out). If not, heat for the remaining 10 seconds. Using fingers and/ or towel squeeze the stalk end and they will simply pop out. TaDAH!

Storage This method is best if you're in need of a lot of garlic, as you'll be left with a whole bunch of peeled cloves — but if you have any left over, the peeled cloves can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for a day or two. Or a good 2 weeks coated in your favourite oil. Plus the bonus is that the oil will then become infused with the garlic flavour!
